At Mini Metropolis, we are obsessed with the "Everyday Carry" (EDC). As a startup based right here in the heart of Singapore, we believe that the right backpack can genuinely change the trajectory of your day. But finding that perfect balance between style, price, and durability? That’s where the struggle usually begins.
The "Goldilocks" Problem of Bags in Singapore
Our founders are self-confessed bag nerds. Over the years, we’ve owned almost every type of bags Singapore has to offer. Our collection ranges from the high-end "grail" bags shipped from China, the US, UK, Australia, and Sweden, all the way down to the very reasonably priced, generic brand backpacks found on massive Chinese shopping platforms.
Through this journey, we noticed a frustrating gap in the market:
- The Premium Problem: High-end branded bags are undeniably beautiful and well-built. However, by the time you add international shipping and the "brand tax," the prices are often too high. Paying more than $150 for a seemingly mid backpack feels a bit much, doesn't it?
- The Generic Gamble: On the flip side, generic bags can offer incredible value. You see a stylish design online, hit "buy," and cross your fingers. But when the parcel arrives, reality sets in. Maybe the zipper catches, the "waterproof" material only beads water in the first 2 weeks like in their promo videos, or the bag smells like a chemical factory.
We’ve seen it all: design flaws that make no sense, blatant counterfeits, and quality control issues that make a bag fall apart after three months of commuting. We thought, "Singaporeans deserve better."

We take the additional step of upgrading the build. We refine the designs, swap out flimsy hardware for reliable components, and ensure the bags can actually handle the weight of a modern lifestyle.
